Ugh. A few days away before Aunt Flow is coming to town; I feel like shit. I am bloated, immensely tired, hungry all the time. And I certainly don’t feel like going to the gym. We’ve all been there, right? Tonight though, I am wondering if I am using that as an excuse. After all, my body is still able to function properly and I am not indisposed with actually having my period (and that’s also another excuse, let’s face it). I can go and I should.
When you’re pondering skipping the gym because you feel like a lazy potato, you should still get off your couch and move. (Wow! So much easier said than done. Thanks for the obvious advice, Heidi. Duh!) It doesn’t have to be a very hard workout. Go for a long walk, get your yoga mat out or get on that elliptical machine. Call a friend! I find that skipping one day usually leads to skipping a second, and sometimes a third one. Gather the little bit of energy and motivation left (haha… motivation… who am I kidding?!) and put on those fabulous leggings. Perhaps a bright lipstick. Anything you need to do to gather the courage to just do it.
It sucks. But you’ll be happy after it’s done. As for me, as soon as I’m done writing this post, I will go upstairs and put on some workout clothes. (Don’t forget the deodorant! Yikes.) I’ll grab my keys and head to the gym. And I’m doing it because I know you are too, right?
